Department of Social Work Program Goals
To educate baccalaureate students for generalist practice with client groups in a varied and rapidly changing human services environment; and to prepared graduate students for advanced clinical or advanced administrative practice with and on behalf of families in rural communities.
To engage in systematic knowledge building to enhance the quality of social work education and practice; and to conduct the disseminate research which contributes to th knowledge base for effective social work practice with a focus on rural areas.
To provide social work services and learning experiences in southeastern Ohio and the Appalachian region that benefit families in rural communities; and to enhance social services and improve the quality of lives in the local community by analyzing, formulating, and influencing social policies through research, evaluation, and advocacy.
