Faculty Position
Ohio University's Department of Social Work invites applications three full- time, tenure track positions one the main campus in Athens, one on the Zanesville Regional Campus, and one on the Chillicothe Regional Campus, all beginning September 2008. Preferred candidates will contribute to the climate of diversity in the College, including a diversity of scholarly approaches.
Assistant Professor/Athens: Minimum requirements include a completed doctoral degree in Social Work, an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program and at least two years of post-MSW practice experience, and a solid research agenda. Strong public policy skills and regular publication are expected, and a record of scholarly publications highly desired. Responsibilities include design and teaching of policy and administration courses, student advising, scholarly publication and service to the university, community and profession.
Assistant Professor/Zanesville and Assistant Professor/Chillicothe: Minimum requirements include a completed doctoral degree in Social Work, an MSW from CSWE-accredited program, at least two years of post-MSW practice experience, and a research agenda. This position requires considerable teaching, and commensurately less publication. Responsibilities include teaching clinical and practice courses at the BSW level, some MSW teaching, student advising, service to the university, community and profession and some publication.
Ohio University's undergraduate Social Work program was one of the first in the country to be accredited by CSWE and has continually maintained that status. The rural-focused MSW program, is now in its eighth year.
